One more time:
I have the cover off the hard drive for the Mac Plus. With the front
facing me, (that is, power cables are pointing away from me) - what is see is
this -
long metal box like thing to the left. Sticker on the top says:
"Part No. 062-0412
Input Output
100 to 240 V AC 1 (the one is in a circle) + 5v at 2a
50/60 H2 2 (the two is in a circle) at 1.5 a
1.0 Max
2-439-192-01
There are two wires coming out the top of this box that end in a
connector that is connected to nothing, (they just sit there).
To the right is another metal box thing about four inches wide and maybe
six inches long. there is a sticker on top of it that says:
"MiniScribe Quality, 27 Mar 1988" (I'm guessing that's when it was made -
hey, '88 was a good year).
On the side is a sticker that says:
Model 8425SA
HDA 06
PCBA 03
UNIQUE 07
TDA (there's nothing written in the space provided beneath these words)
To the left of this box, is a white plug having four wires, yellow,
black, black, red. They go through this large black tube looking thing and
then further back, (same color wires) into the metal thing on the left. Two
wires then exit the metal thing on the left and go to the back of the drive
where it plugs into the Mac Plus.
Coming from the back of the hard drive is a flat, grey wire with a small
blue stripe on the side, (the wire is about half an inch wide). It has a baby
blue connector with six holes at the end, (I guess these would be pin holes).
But this wire is connected to nothing. It too, just lays there empty.
I know this sounds like the horror movie where the bus driver lands a 747
full of passengers, (okay tower, the little dial on the left reads . . . ).
But could somebody tell me what all this stuff is so that in the future I can
at least depart from saying, "the little grey box to the left."
As they say in these parts: "Thank ya big!"
