There's one trick that has been known to work that isn't mentioned on that website. Here goes: Take about a 3 inch long piece of Scotch tape and use it to pull the ROM SIMM farther towards the vertical. One end of the tape attaches to top of SIMM and other end attaches to nearest edge of logic card. iow, pull it tight so that the SIMM is pulled farther vertically into its socket than what the socket does by itself. This has worked for at least 3 listmembers that I know of. Not elegant, but it's cheap, requires no solder repaiir skills, and in the case of one my SE/30's, lasted years, to this day. The next most often trouble seems to be the caps that I mentioned before. Gamba <http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2> -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
