I don't trust the installer on that Asante disk. Suggest: Have nothing else, for now, in the PDS slot except the Asante. Zap the PRAM. Do a fresh install of 7.5. Update it by running the installer that is on Apple's Network Software Installer 1.5 disk, which will update AppleTalk and the ethernet drivers.
