Hi Folks, I picked up a second-hand SE/30 and it worked great at first. But then it began to exhibit some problems. At startup there is no chime, and the video that comes up is comprised of the normal pattern but superimposed on it is more vertical line junk. Sometimes if I hit the reset button it would chime and startup normally.
Now I thought this was an analog board or video board thing. Wrong. I put the motherboard in to a different chassis and it did the same thing. My other board works fine, so this problem points at the motherboard. I put a brand new battery in the motherboard thinking this may have been the cause. It still had the same problem. I also read the reseating the ROM Simm and the RAM chips may help. It didn't. Any ideas?
