You should use epoxy to re-attach any lifted pads or traces. Be sure not to get any epoxy on the tinned side of the pad (wipe it off immediately). After letting the epoxy cure for 24-48 hours you should be able to solder on the pad again. Understand that the reason the pad lifted off in the first place was either from excessive heat (which will overcure the epoxy destroying its strength) or from excessive mechanical stress (literally ripping the pad off the board) or a combination of the two... The worst thing you can do is apply a mechanical force to the epoxy when it is hot.
If you know a device is bad you can use destructive removal where you cut the cap in half and then remove (or unsolder) one side at a time. Apple often glues the parts down which makes non-destructive removal difficult.
