Anything in the LaserWriter Pro series can be had for the prices you're talking about ($50-200) and will be substantially faster (and likely include Ethernet as well). If you want absolute lowest budget, go for a IIf or IIg. If you'd prefer a bit more speed, go with something in the Pro series or a Select 360.
