Yo compacters everywhere, Our Stuart Bell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> askz:
>... were there any with twin 1.4Mb floppies... ? At the senior center where I fixes 'em, we have 17 SEs in service. 13 of 'em are FDHD or SuperDrive models with the 1.4 floppy. Five of these were donated by the Boeing Corporation, five were in the school service, and three were donated by private doners. Two of these SE-FDHDs are still missing the little sliver of plastic we call a slot filler. These two were once twin floppy SE-FDHDs until I swapped an 80 MB hard drive into them. >From this, I conclude that twin floppies were once available as a stock factory option. At least one of these twin floppy SE-FDHDs was from a school. Until I removed it, this twin floppy SE-FDHD also had a pigtail DB9 connector hanging out the security slug hole connected to one of those Power-R video tap devices for classroom presentations with an overhead projection device. The case still has the Power-R sticker on it as well as the school name branded into the case. So schools had 'em. Bill -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
