The problem is that a friend did a re-wiring of the connectors for me, and didn't fully document what he did!
Certainly the data cable needed the data signals shifting to be in the right location for a 4-bit panel.
The other issue was the cable to the inverter, which had inverted (!) wiring.
If people get a kit from Digital View now, they may have corrected the problem, The bottom line is that people need the ability to work out whether the cabling is OK or not, and if they can work that out, they'll be able to work out the corrections!
