Yes, common, but not right. It indicates an imminent failure of certain
components on the motherboard.

Many listers have, in the past, tried placing their motherboards into a
dishwasher and washing them as dishes get washed, WITH DETERGENT.

This seems to work a lot of the time to clean up the board and make the
Classic or Classic II run right again.
