washing a classic II logicboard in the sink with normal washing up liquid was all that i found to be needed. Scrub the areas around the capacitors (little silver cans) carefully with an old toothbrush, Follow this with a rinse under the cold tap and leave it to drip dry. Its a pitty Apple didnt leave washing instructions printed on the circuit board
