Pretty simple. The dangers from working inside electronic equipment with
HV capacitors or tubes of ANY kind is frankly not an urban legend. The
fact that so few folks HAVE been injured by these things is the education
factor of being told before they do something stupid.

If you've ever discharged one of these things or seen it done, well let's
just say it's mighty impressive. I sure wouldn't want 20,000 volts going
through my heart.

Yes, those of us with compact Macs have heard for years how to be careful working with or around the CRT lest we receive a fatal shock. Yet, I'm curious if anyone here has actual firsthand knowledge of a fatality caused by working on a compact Mac.

"Jolt" stories also welcome, but if you are an actual shock fatality and want to tell us about your final moment, you really need to get a better afterlife...
