I had mentioned that I was the lucky recipient of two swats from the CRT

One got me thru the card on the rear of the CRT neck. The other bit me
when I tried to turn over the Plus when live and touched the flyback.

A jolt like grabbing the spark plug wire of a running
lawnmower.

When I presented this some time back, I was booed as a dangerous fellow.

Or unlucky!

The above post is on-topic for this thread.

OTOH, the 'I've heard the story of' type posting is not only off-topic, but is a classic example of the futile exchange of stories that generates far more heat than light, and which all too easily results in a flame war.

Many of us can throw around our knowledge of electricity and CRT technology, but the fact remains that exactly the same situation can be fatal for someone and not for someone else, because there are so many variables from the construction of your shoes upwards (literally).

So, please, no more throwing around of high school physics! The subject of electrocution is, just like SCSI termination, an art rather than an exact science.
