Ya, it runs well on 68K Macs, though it is a bit dated.
The best place for info is the comp.unix.aux newsgroup.

Here is a good link site:

http://www.tecneeq.de/aux_links.html

There is also a 68k port of Debian linux:

news://comp.os.linux.m68k

Good luck!
 Stephen

I have been searching for a relatively easy to operate and install version
of unix to run on one of my old mac machines when I came upon an article
about apple's ancient A/UX system. Was this any good? Where can I find a
copy of the software?
