I have no answer to that but I'd like to extend the question.

I believe that to be true but I have never been able to find the required software. I 
think it might have been delivered only with the purchase of a Lisa-based file server.

I really want to make my collection of old Macs work while using my network for 
software storage. Somewhere there is a bootable disk for a 128 or 512 Mac that opens 
the printer port and responds to, or creates, AppleTalk mount requests.
