The modem port is what i want to use, for one it just makes more sence to me, and two i had seen that the printer port might be limited to 300baud though it is talking to the sun at 9600 fine so far. The problem is that ZTerm reports that the modem port is busy (ERROR: -98 unable to open I/o port) but it accepts the printer port just fine. But i cant see anything that would be using or trying to use the modem port.
From what little I know of macs it doesn't matter to much which port is used as long as its configured.
I am sorry I missed the modem port problem in the earlier post. As I'm red faced and can offer no further input I will go away. :(
I cant remember the exact problem but I moved from zterm to blacknight to get better trasfer rates across the null modem, not helpful to you on 6.0.8. :(
Could there be some wiring error thats un-noticed on the printer port but engages the modem port? I know its not likely if it works on the printer port.
I really hate to say this but "have you zapped the pram" among other things it nukes is the port settings?
