Hi All, My 'new' Plus is on the way and should arrive at my office on Tuesday. I'm pretty excited about the whole thing and realized after studying the picture of it, that the external HD *wasn't* connected to it in the picture (even though all cables are with it) and that's probably why it had it's flashing question mark looking for the OS. Not knowing much about the Plus, I figured that perhaps the OS was on the HD and thus, the confused Mac.
Any suggestions of what to do, maintenance wise, for the Mac? I'd honestly like to clean it up to a sparkling clean shine and have it all set up and running. Will eventually get a modem (why, a few years since using one!) and hook up to my .mac mail account. That should be interesting. Also hoping to get an Imagewriter or Laserwriter and clean it up nicely to have the whole thing a kind of, well, for lack of another term, "living museum" of sorts. :-) Byron, from here on the list, has kindly offered to help me with the OS, if it's still a problem, and some other odds and ends. It's nice to finally find a group where "everyone knows your name" (or at least understands your love of old macs!). Have a good week, Steve -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
