You are correct. The cable is unique to the Mac Plus/128/512 models. It looks like a telephone handset cable, but is NOT the same thing. It's wired differently.
The mouse is a 9-pin D connector serial mouse, also unique to these Macs and the Apple II series.
I may have an extra keyboard cable around somewhere. Let me know if you'd like me to look for it.
