2048k in Mac 512k

I got a battered Mac 512k at a thrift store for $15...  But, upon 
getting it home, I find it has 2048k in it and an 800k drive.  This 
means it has a Mac Plus motherboard in it, right?  It isn't possible to 
upgrade a 512k motherboard to 2048k, is it?
