You are correct: and AAUI is Apple specific but it cannot be confused for a video port. AUI isn't Apple specific and can be confused for a video port. That said, most of the third party ethernet cards I see use the AUI style of port and not the AAUI style of port.


Just a little addition here, Mac Video and AUI both use the same DA-15 port but AUI almost always has a slide lock mechanism in place of the screw in retainers that are the norm with D connectors.
