Bottom line: Ignore all the urban legends about the dangers of compact mac CRTs propagated
by well-intentioned, but ill-informed, folks. The health risk is about the same as that
presented by walking across a carpet on a dry day and getting zapped when you reach for the
doorknob. So proceed without fear. The little old compact Mac is not dangerous (again, as
long as it's unplugged).
And, I am not going to tolerate YATOTADOSFCOCM

Unless someone can show me off-list any evidence that the advice which Tom gives (and note his credentials and address) above is flawed, then that is the end of this sub-thread. OK?
(Note for recently arrived members: this issue comes up every few months. There is so much fifth-hand evidence of half the state of Utah being wiped out by compact Mac CRT shock, but, AFAIK, no first-hand evidence. The threads are 'full of sound and fury, signifying nothing'. So, not another one, please!)
