If it's 5251-11, it's probably an IBM 5250-series
monochrome) terminal emulator. 
I think they were AS/400 devices. 
STP Type 1 was a DB9 connector for direct 
connection, I guess.

The Asante card is probably OK.

$1 brand new, btw.
