Okay, today I bought a nice Torx screwdriver and opened it. And I must say, 
there was a really huge amount of dust inside. So, I disconnected the logic 
board, took off the ROM and RAM modules... but I did not want to take the 
risk of throwing everything in the water yet. So I blew away most of the dust 
and reassembled everything. But you are indeed right: the capacitors have 
leaked, that can be seen very well.
In each case, the machine still works, so I am happy I didn't break something 
the first time opening the machine :-)
