Hi, I just got a Color Classic (cheap, needed a new hard drive and I bumped it up to the full 10MB RAM, put an ethernet card in just for the hell of it, and ordered a new fan so maybe it won't be quite so incredibly loud...)
But now I can't seem to get System 7.1 installed on it. When I put the install disk in, I get this message: "This startup disk will not work on this Macintosh model. Use the latest Installer to update this disk for this model. (System 7.1 does not work on this model; you need a newer version that does.)"
Help! I can't seem to figure out how to update the disk as they suggest. The "System Update 3.0" for System 7.1 that I have doesn't seem to have an installer...
I downloaded the System 7.5 Network Access disk and used it to boot the machine, so there are no problems with the machine.
