I know the frustration. A local school here is actually PAYING to have their old Macs hauled away and recycled. I told them I'd take them off their hands for FREE, but no-can-do.
It's a shame these little machines get treated like junk--they're a lot of fun to play around with, particularly since they're really pretty simple machines inside, with interesting variations from machine to machine.
