Hmm.

I was not aware of this. I recently replaced the power supply/analog board
in my Mac Plus. The old one had completely failed and wouldn't even allow
me to power up. I plan on eventually fixing it, as I'm 99.9% sure it just
needs some small amount of resoldering.

Anyway, after I put the replacement power/analog board in, the Plus has
seemed to work fine since. However since installing the 'new' board the
screen image is shorter vertically, thus making it just a *slight* bit more
squished than it used to be. Also, the brightness control underneath the
monitor gets way too bright on it's high setting and doesn't dim the screen
all the way on the low setting. Since the image controls are a part of the
power/analog board in Mac Pluses, I thought that perhaps it was just a
result of how things were set on the replacement board. I still haven't
gotten around to tweaking the controls yet to try and make the image taller
or fixing the brightness control, but now I'm wondering if this 'new' power
board isn't failing also.

The screen doesn't move or shrink at all no matter how long the machine is
left on and is very steady which is why I would think that the vertical
control just needs adjusting.

What are the chances that this power supply is also failing as opposed to
just needing to be adjusted? Like I said earlier, the image is very steady
and solid and there is no evidence of any shaking, shivering, shifting or
other visual anomalies like I experienced before my last power board failed.
Just the two discrepancies I listed above.

Thoughts?
