Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've just tried writing a rawrite image with dd to a floppy- no go. Basilisk II can't see the floppy drive, because it's attached to the USB port, so that's also out.
Yes, I guessed that would happen. :(
I'm afraid I'm going to have to try to find someone with an older Mac and create the disk on their machine. Perhaps this is an excuse to buy another vintage Mac :)
Know anyone with a pc? You really only need the floppy drive to be seen as a floppy drive, the platform shouldn't matter.
