I'm active on the classiccomp list. We have a "10 Year Rule". Anything ten years old or older is on topic with the exception of generic Windows machines since Windows is now older than ten years. There is a "geek cool" exemption made for exceptional machines and platforms such as NeXT cubes and slabs (ten years old now), Sgi boxes (a lot of them are ten years old now) and so on.
I'm not as concerned with OT computer related posts as with all of the offensive political sigs. This is a computer list. If you must try to spread your political propaganda, there are places where that is appropriate. Do we need a rigid set of rules as long as members use a little common sense and respect for other members.

Richard is right, parts etc for 'compact enabled' printers can be tricky to source, my personal two-pence worth (not sure how many cents or euros that might be !) is that we should allow printers for compacts, along with modems for compacts and scanners for compacts, indeed any peripherals that are to be used with a compact Mac. Cheers Mike
