If your home network includes other Macs running System 9 or earlier, it will be much easier to transfer files using AppleShare. With System 6, AppleShare may not be installed by default. Add it by doing a System 6 custom install. I assume you have the SE ethernet card installed. It came with a driver, and you must run the driver installer which modifies your System file. Connect the ethernet cable. Go to Network in Control Panels. Select the ethernet or ethertalk icon. On your other Mac, set AppleTalk to ethernet, turn on file sharing, and share a volume that is 2G or smaller in size. Back to the SE, go to Chooser, select AppleShare, and the other computer should show up. -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
