I have an Apple Macintosh SE & an Apple Macintosh SE/30, both have Asante
NIC
Installed & they have no problem negiotiating 10Mb with a Netgear 10/100Mb
Switch (DG834G) which I have.

It's more than likely that the Asante Network Cards which are a problem, are
of the Nubus Type - which fit to Apple Macintosh IIci & the like.

I know this, since when connecting my IIci to the same switch - no
connection, but a 10mb hub in between, problem solved.

The Asante Model you require for an Apple Macintosh SE is Model No MC+SEET
with Part Number of 09-00300-03.

The Asnte Model you require for an Apple Macintosh SE/30 is Model No
MC+30IET64 with a Part Number of 09-00203-03

Hope this Helps
