It works sort of but it is extremely unreliable. I
went through 16 floppies last night to get four
formatted for my Fat Mac. The other twelve are
salvagable but for some reason it does not like them.
According to my MacWorld secrets book, the 1.44 Mb
disks have a strnger magnetic field on the disk and
that is why it does not work.
I have an old Zentih 8088 PC Laptop that as two 720k
floppy drives. It uses essentially the same disks as
my Fat Mac, they are just formatted for DOS. Yeah, 10
minutes is about right and then the disk becomes
unreadable. It is a shame because otherwise it would
be a very useful laptop.
I have not tried to use the disks much that I
formatted last night but I doubt that the Mac floppy
drive is much different than the PC floppy drives.
This is why I would like to get a hold of the real
thing. double sided floppies that are not high density.
