Hi all,

Today I decided to open my Mac Plus so that I could take some photos about the adapted internal hard drive.

Unfortunately, I found out that it's backup battery, which is accessible from a small compartment from the back of the computer, was completely lost (it had that characteristic green dust from old batteries).

At back of the small compartmetment cover it reads: "Use Eveready no. 523 (4.5 volts) or equivalent".

Question: do you think I could use any other type of battery adapted to this battery compartment? I could not find this battery model here in Brazil. It's very similar to a "AA" battery shape, it's only a little bit thicker and it's 4.5 volts (not 1.5 as the AA model). By the way, the battery is the Alkaline type, not a NiCad rechargeable.

Thank you all. Hope I can post some photos from the computer in a few minutes.

Regards,

Celso.
