Hey folks... In hopes of putting this subject to rest, I run Word 5.1 under System 6.0.8 on my Macintosh IIsi. Has worked great as long as I can remember. I use it all the time.
There is no reason why it wouldn't run on a Classic II under System 6 as far as I know.
