5. Does anyone know where to get Mac 128K/512K/Plus
PRAM batteries?

RADIO SHACK -- it's a standard 4.5v Eveready 523 -- if not there online.

I had to order mine online for $10.50 from Radio Shack a couple years ago. I'm not sure if it still holds a charge, but just lettin' you know how much it was...

3. I've got a Classic manufactured in August 1990 and
an SE from January 1991. These weren't supposed to
have been made in those time periods...is the Classic
an early one and the SE made from leftover parts?

Have no idea what you mean. The Classic was introduced in October 1990 and Discontinued in September 1992. Do you honestly think they manufactured them on October 1 and shipped them the same day? In order to have them in the stores by October 1st, they would have had to manufacture them, package them
and ship them several weeks in advance. 1990 was not the world of
build-to-order we enjoy today where a Mac might be manufactured the day you order it and FedEx-ed to you by the end of the week -- and even that takes at least a week! Besides, my 128k logicboard was manufactured in 1983, but the 128k was not in stores until the end of January. How can you be sure the SE was manufactured in 1991? Is it an SE FDHD? That was manufactured until October 1990. I suspect if yours was really manufactured in 1991 (and not an error in the serial number decoder), that it was one of the last made at a
remote factory to fill the gap between the release of the Classic,
subsequent demand and the discontinuation of the SE. It is possible that
Apple had SE orders backed up that they had to fill after they stopped
selling them publicly. A discontinuation date usually means they stop
manufacturing, but they keep selling them until stock is depleted. Due to the unrivaled success of the SE, they probably had orders that kept them manufacturing through the holiday, but took no further orders. Also, we know that the original Classic had a different analogue board than the subsequent Classic and Classic II. It utilized parts used in the SE, namely the flyback transformer. This should be the case in your Classic, if not, it could have been made in a different plant that did not use that board to get rid of the remaining SE parts. Your analogue board should be P/N 820-0395-C 630-0395-A
and manufactured for Apple by Samsung.

4. As a retirement gift I got a Color Classic from my
coworker. Is it worth less as a collectable with an
LC 550 motherboard inside of it?

NO. It's worth more. The 550 logicboard makes it a CC2 and is more useful.
