Hi Nick, Nick Wedd: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: >How do people find out about these things? I am not aware that the UEC >Cup has been mentioned on this mailing list.
Shunsuke has posted the announcement of UEC cup on Oct 4th, see below. >I have also failed to find any reports of results from two less >important computer Go events which were scheduled for early this month: >the Hakone tournament (a side-event to the 12th Game Programming >Workshop in Kanagawa), and the Cotsen Open, a human tournament which >also advertised a Computer Go side-event. Does anyone have any results >from these events? The result of GPW 2007 Cup* at Hakone on 9-10 Nov was: Pos Program Developer Hardware Win Games 1 Crazy Stone Rémi Coulom Intel 4 x 1 Q6600 3GHz 10 10 2 GGMC Go Hideki Kato Intel 4 x 1 Q6600 3GHz 8 10 3 AyaMC Hiroshi Yamashita AMD 4 x 2 Opteron 6 10 4 Katsunari Shin'ich Sei Laptop 3 10 4 Casablanca Jun Li Laptop 3 10 6 Boozer Chihiro Hashimoto Laptop 0 10 Note: 9 x 9, Chinese rules, Komi 7.5, 15 minutes absolute. Katsunari is a classical, others are uct/mc programs. Casablanca and Boozer are under development. As almost all expected :-), Crazy Stone won all the games. AyaMC had some software problem so that it used 4 of 8 cores except first game. AyaMC and GGMC Go had a chance each to beat Crazy Stone. * http://jsb.cs.uec.ac.jp/~igo/gpw2007_9x9/ (Japanese only). NB: GPW Cup is one of the night events at Game Programming Workshop. Other events are: Shogi and 55 Shogi (Shogi on 5 x 5 board) tournament and free drink party :-). These tournaments are not "computer" tournaments as humen also can perticipate :). * This result is not authorized yet. Hideki.
