In most cases I have seen, the pairing like
 1 v 6, 2 v 7, 3 v 8, 4 v 9, 5 v 10
was taken.

My guess is that this will typically help the number 1 to
gain the highest tie-break rating (to increase his/her
winning chances for the tournament).
