Oh snap, I didn't see your first error message. Download and install
autoruns
www.filehippo.com
This program allows you to see everything that starts up when your
computer starts. You may have to google a few of the entries but
you'll see exactly what the problem is and be able to fix it with just
a checkbox. Or you could just ask us what it is and we'll help you
out.

Does Internet Explorer work? Some of the settings may still reflect
what you needed in order to use Verizon. If you open Internet Options
and go to the Connections Tab, you'll see if you have any Dial-Up
rules. There may be a Verizon Dialup or VPN connection still trying
to dial. You can remove that with no problems. Let us know what
happens!

Matt
