I believe you have two separate problems,
the first is the verizon pop up, which needs to be cleaned off the
computer.
whie the second is the pop up asking to protect the computer from bla
bla bla....which i believe to be a malware adware or worse a
spyware....etc.
download spybot S&D or ad-awre...and run a full scan of the computer,
then you may try a chkdsk utility.
