Aircards can roughly go 2Mbps now, which is better then any basic cable or DSL service. If you have a high end cable or DSL service then the Aircard would lag considerably to what you are used to. I use cable 10Mbps, works wonders. I also use a sprint aircard and don't mind the speeds, yes I get mine for free through work but still if I want to be connected everywhere I go it's worth it. I drove 16 hours to Maryland and was connected almost the entire time :-)
But as far as pricing goes they are all quite expensive, the cheapest one I have found is T-Mobile's data connection, and only around 10 dollars cheaper then the competition. I have not personally used T- Mobile's data plan but I would assume it would be just like everyone else's and work from 1-2Mbps. Connection speed is fine for email, surfing the web, and even online gaming. If anyone wants to argue with me about the gaming then go ahead, I have played Final Fantasy XI, WoW, and Unreal / Counterstrike on this type of connection and it worked just fine. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
