I am trying to play 1080p video files (like mkv or avi) and they get choppy. My computer is maybe 2-3 years old but I would think it would still be good enough for video playback.
The question I have is what hardware maybe limiting my performance. I am split between the cpu, hard drive speed (since full length videos are 8GB or more), graphics card or power/cooling. I have the following: Pentium D 3.2Ghz 2GB DDR2 Dual Channel BFG Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT 256MB Seagate 7200rpm 320GB hard drive running though sata connection Stock cooling on the chip and video card and a 60mm fan in front pulling and a 120 fan in back exhausting. The TV I am running it into is a Toshiba 65" DLP with 1080p, and I am using a DVI to HDMI plug with a high quality HDMI cable runnning to the tv. Shouldn't this be good enough? Please let me know if you need any more info, I have been thinking about buying another of the same video card and running it in SLI since the motherboard and video card both have the capabilities. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
