Thanks for the suggestion (and thanks to everyone for their help) - Wow, that's weird, I just switched to Plain Text and the hyperlink works. Guess I'll just compose messages in Plain Text; does anyone have a clue as to why hyperlinks work in Plain Text and not in HTML format? Maybe it's some conflict between IE and FF since IE is not my default (although under file associations URL is linked to IE - changing this did not help).
