I was to tell you that I do the same to my home computer, and that the best way to get the most out of your computer-TV combinations, is to look in the TV's manual to supported resolutions and refresh rates, usually new LCD TVs support up to 1024*768 and refresh rates up to 70 Hz. The cable is important to be a good brand shielded one, so to have a good non blurry image...mine is 5 meters long, and have nothing...while when I first bought the computer i tried it on a 1 meter cable, and it was really bad.
