Ok, perhaps this is to basic for this forum, however i have had experience
where people had no knowledge of this, so i must use the oportunity to
remind or to inform new people about this. The first thing that pops in to
my mind once i hear the words "notebook" and "overheating" in the same
sentance is >Taking your computer with you werver you go. What i mean by
this is, if you sometimes still have some unfinished work to do and are very
sleepy you might take your notebook and still use it once you go to bed. You
write two or three more emails and fall a sleep while your notebook is
postioned on your beds soft surface. What is the worst technical thing you
can do to it besides it falling to the ground from some hight. If you cover
the bottom surface of your notebook with a soft surface, the small "legs"
that are there to hold it just above the the bottom surface are filled and
the air flow doesnt do the job it should. This is quite a common mistake
that people make, so i appologise if this is well known to you, but still,
if one of the visitors of this forum will learn something from this, i do
not think this is a waste of time. If youre one of those guys, who use your
notebook and put it on your sofa or bed, you should never forget to position
it on a hard and straight surface while doing this. You can use a small
wooden board for your notebook if you use it on a surface the blocks the
airflow bellow the notebook. You could also check your ajustments if the
BiOS for any overclocking settings you might have made in the past. You can
also use your bios to mesure all the temperatures of your computer, most
bios-es today offer this option. I would also suggest to check if any single
program is taking up large amount of your cpu usage and ram, and if so, try
to disable it or delete it if its not needed for your system to run. I sure
hope you can find a solution to your problem without having to buy a new
computer, as this would be the worst scenario possible.
