First off, just because a CPU unit is dual processir it does NOT mean you will get a 100% increase in speed. In actual fact you will be lucky to get a 50-60% increase in speed (the technical details of multi-processor architecture I won't go into). The major purpose of dual/quad processor workstations is that it allows for simultaneous processing which is what a lot of virtual-reality type games need to get the best look and feel out of the game. Myself, I think dual/quad processor workstations are a waste of money for most people. Consequently, I would have to ask you what your purpose of the dual processor is? If it is run of the mill email/web browsing/word processing/spread sheets with the occasional intensive gaming then my opinion is it would be a waste of money for you to have a multi-processor system.
