Coalwater Since he never indicated what type of building... just about anything would do. But if, for example, he was building a complete Linux distro then, most certainly very hefty memory (4-16GB) and processor speed (2-3GHZ quad core) would greatly reduce build time. But if it is for some 20-30000 line application - well what difference would 2 minutes or 3 minutes (or maybe seconds) make (unless he was building, re- building, and rebuilding multiple times a day (in which case he should rethink/fix the problem as to the multiple builds daily)
