yea, vista eats lots of memory, if you had 1GB memory, by just starting up
your computer you'll find like 70%~80% of the RAM taken by just the windows,
suppose you want to open some heavy program like adobe stuff, stuff will
start getting thrown into the virtual memory and the whole system's response
time will be awful, so yea 3GB or 4GB would be better for vista
