Jadan we require an input from your side on the type of software you are thinking to build upon. According to me you should atleast have a 2.2GHz and above processor, atleast 1GB and above ram, 250GB hard disk and if you are sure you won't need to built any graphical programs then go for laptops with onboard graphic card like intel graphic media accelarater or if you want to have a decent grapha card you should look for a discrete graphic card.
