well linux guy if you've been a linux person since a long long time you wont understand the microsoft methods :D, microsoft chooses whats best for it's self not what's good for the the users. Any one who worked in webdesign would know the IE hacks or at least heard of it, hacks are done in the html code to make things looke like what they are supposed to look like. Even till now the IE8 (latest version) can't get a good score in the Acid3 test lol, and when google made "google chrome frame" ( http://blog.chromium.org/2009/09/introducing-google-chrome-frame.html) for IE, microsoft said it would make security threats for the users, like it was secured from the first place lol here try reading this about the Acid3 test and have a look at the comparison table http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid3 i love the IE results LOL
