I agree with KwikOne.  This is almost the exact same thing as what
happened with my mother's cell phone, which was formerly connected to
the Cingular network, and Cingular's network coverage wasn't all that
good to start with.  But when AT&T acquired the Cingular network, the
network coverage increased, and all Cingular cell phones now connect
to the AT&T network.  I'm certain even if your Alltel modem doesn't
get Verizon's network right now, it'll only be a matter of time.
