That isn't a bad cable, but that is using standard RCA plugs, that is
more for a TV studio wire. I would just buy two different wires. Let
me explain my situation and it may help some.

I have two TVs, both LCD, one is an Insignia 32", and I love it, best
buy brand actually does well. I use this as my primary monitor. I
have a DVI to HDMI cable that I bought from Wal-Mart. Only reason I
did this is because it is shielded and made a bit better then the ones
you can find online, it cost me between 30-40 dollars, cannot
remember. The second cable, also purchased from wal-mart, is a male
to male 3.5mm cable. It simply uses the headphones jack on my
computer to and hooks to the TV.

The second TV that I have is a Samsung 42" in the living room, LCD, I
use a DVI to VGA adapter, and then a standard monitor VGA to VGA, it
does also have a HDMI hookup, but the XBOX is using that :-)
Use the same 3.5mm male to male wire.

Depending on what computer and setup you have your cables may differ
slightly. If your laptop has a VGA cable and so does your LCD monitor
then just use a standard monitor cable. If it has a HDMI hookup then
you might have to get tricky with this. You can get a signal amp/
changer thingymaggiger but it isn't cheap.

Both VGA and DVI Only carry video, and not sound. I do believe that
HDMI carrys sound and video, but you cannot pull sound from either on
a laptop yet.

Best bet would be to just use a VGA to VGA cable with the 3.5mm male
to male on your TV, most LCD TVs have these hookups. Some TVs do NOT
have a VGA and they have a DVI, just make sure you get the correct VGA
to DVI cable for your TV.

When trying to find a DVI cable there are different pins inside each
one to be leery of which to purchase. I believe one that I have is a
VGA to DVI-I

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812119044&cm_re=VGA_to_DVI-_-12-119-044-_-Product

When viewing this product, notice the picture that shows the 4 pins
around the DVI set pin (the large long pin)
That is the difference between the two, just be sure if you purchase a
cable that your hookup does or does not have this.

Let me know if you have any questions.
