Thanks everyone. No I unfortunately don't have DVI or HDMI on this particular laptop I want to use.
I tried changing the refresh rates on all the laptops I used, but oddly none of them worked. Ceresia you're right, the picture will probably not be great even if I could get it to work...so perhaps I'll just invest into a laptop with HDMI and DVI and every other port I'd ever need next time. lol I've gotten a replacement cable ordered free of charge, so hopefully once that one arrives I'll see if the cable was the problem all along. *crosses fingers* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
